Why is my garage door so loud all of a sudden?

Sudden noise is almost always one of three things: dry/worn nylon rollers, a chain-drive opener whose chain has stretched and slapped the rail, or a torsion spring with a broken coil that's still under partial tension. A 27-point tune-up identifies and fixes all three.
